Exploring the World of Vinyl Records: Collecting Tips, Album Reviews, Unwanted Opinions and General Tomfoolery From a Lifetime of Record Collecting
Welcome to Vinyl Muse! I am recently unemployed, and instead of looking for a job, I have decided to start this blog. After 35 years of assiduous record collecting, show attendance, podcast hosting and music obsession I thought it was time to take it to the ol inter-web and see what happens. There's thousands of music blogs out there, and this one makes no claim to be the end-all, but I do think my flippant and well-researched writing style along with my record collection of over 7,500 records gives me a voice that some of you will want to hear. The site will be a pell-mell of record reviews (both new and old), thoughts on record collecting, show reviews, musical war stories and experiences from my past, laments and praises and everything in-between. I don't know where this will take me, but, fuck it, let's go!

Let's get some of the basic bullshit out of the way. I'm a Bay Area native currently living in Minneapolis. I have been obsessed with music since I was a little kid. Like, fucking consumed by music. I used to spend hours glued to MTV as an impressionable youth and quickly realized that all I wanted to do was get fucked up and be part of the world of music. And, ya know what, I succeeded beyond my wildest dreams. I got to play in bands, I've seen thousands of live shows, currently co-host a podcast, and have am overwhelming record collection that I thoroughly love. The getting fucked up part led to quite a lot if fun and quite a lot of issues, but that's all part of the journey. I come form a punk rock and metal background, but I love lots of kids of music and will cover an eclectic array of shit on here. I love to swear too, so, a healthy smattering of 'fuck' will grace these posts. I plan on doing record reviews of new and ld records, sharing my thoughts on record collecting, shows, the musical world, punk rock and everthing. in-between. Thanks for being here. Ready? Let's go!
